Amanda Fisher – Artistic Inspiration

“When I first met Tony, he always wanted to go camping. During the many trips, we journeyed up North. I began a deep love and fascination with the outback. The outback’s light, textured bark, rocks, and many of the unique treasures are my inspiration for my artworks.

Later, I was to develop my focus further through the lens of a camera. Through photography, my vision was drawn to the contrasting colours, shapes, texture, lighting, and unique perspectives one could explore and experiment with. My treasure collection grew so much that I often began hiding them under the car seat so I could take them back home to create artwork.

These outback journeys continue to inform my art practice today. Bushwalks connect me to nature and I continue to be inspired by the treasures I find.”
