Return to Oz

4 August - 30 August

Linda Buller, a lifelong artist, has travelled far and wide, showcasing her work in many exhibitions. Her journey to Bali was a turning point, where she witnessed the heartbreaking neglect and abuse of the island’s beautiful dogs. Moved by their plight, Linda transformed a rundown art gallery into a refuge for rescue dogs. Her paintings – deeply infused with her feelings for these animals – alongside her decorative works, are sold to support the dogs in her care.

Today, Linda’s Bali Dog Refuge, BARC, is home to over 100 dogs. The refuge provides care, food and medical treatment for these animals, many of whom were once abandoned on the streets of Bali. Located in Tabanan, BARC boasts a hectare of land where the dogs roam freely, play and thrive. Visitors are invited to tour the refuge, interacting with the dogs in a warm and welcoming environment. Some return to volunteer, spending weeks washing, cuddling, and caring for the animals they’ve grown to love.

This exhibition showcases works created by Linda in Bali and others inspired by her travels through Australia’s outback. The aim is to raise funds for essential upkeep – maintaining fences and building kennels – to ensure the continued care of Linda’s rescues.
