Tony Arrowsmith is a local artist who is quickly making a name for himself both locally and internationally. He resides in Albury with his wife Kay, and they are proud parents and grandparents, as well as enjoying and embracing the active lifestyle Albury is known for.
Recently retired, Tony’s free time is now enabling him to focus his energies on his painting. He has refined his skills through participating in several workshops in Australia, Vietnam and Italy and has recently returned from a solo four-week painting trip to France. Tony considers himself fortunate to have been influenced by the teachings of well-known artists such as John Wilson and Kasey Sealey who have been an invaluable source of knowledge, support and friendship.
‘Outdoors in Oil’ is Tony’s first solo exhibition, and he is delighted to be able to hold it here at Art Partners Australia in Albury. This collection of paintings is a direct response to the travels that Tony has travelled over the years, both here in Australia and internationally throughout Italy.
Tony paints in oils, acrylic and watercolour. His landscape paintings are known for their realism and meticulous detail with people often mistaking them for photographs at first glance. His love of the varied Australian landscape is reflected in his paintings as is his ability to connect with his surroundings both locally and internationally.
