Ellis, Chris.
The recent body of landscape paintings by Albury based Ellis pays homage to the mighty Murray River.
The beauty and tranquility of the Murray is playfully captured as the artist explores optical distortions, reflections, shadows, movement and the tension between the surface and the depth of objects.
Ellis creates painterly landscapes of this iconic Australian river in the studio after studying, sketching and planning the work in-situ.
